Whole House Remodel - Powell, Ohio

This home had a standard 1970's floor plan; center foyer, formal living room and study as you enter, kitchen, breakfast room, and family room "lined-up" at the back of the house.  Well, this large family wanted to do something less predictable, more open, and much more suited to their lifestyle!

The windows in the kitchen used to be in the front study, closed off from the rest of the house.  The kitchen and breakfast room were too small, so we removed the study altogether; combining and utilizing all of their spaces.

During the design process, we did a few sketches to describe the space in three-dimensions.  This allowed us to articulate the style a bit, determine some of the colors, and define details a bit more.

The foyer in this home was dark and uninviting.  We removed the hall closet and opened up the walls into the kitchen and family room. This maintained the circular traffic pattern this family wanted to keep and made a much more casual, inviting home.

The new screen porch addition becomes an extension of their living spaces.
